Tobias Link lighting planning
The Löhr Center in Koblenz is one of the largest shopping centers in Rhineland-Palatinate. More than 130 stores are located on an area of 32,000 square meters. In order to structure the different areas of the mall and provide visitors with better orientation, zones were created, each with its own architectural identity, which are linked together by light and color. In the "Lobby", a green-yellow color scheme creates a pleasant, warm atmosphere. The "Boutique" area is marked by a fashion-oriented red-blue-purple-turquoise color scheme and the "Collection" zone shines in atmospheric red-purple-yellow tones. The mall's ambient lighting is 4,000 Kelvin during the day and is characterized by a balanced mix of ambient and accent lighting. A sensor determines the brightness in the outdoor area, which dynamically changes the lighting mood in the mall and adapts it to the external conditions. In this way, an overcast sky inside is transformed into a sunny day and in the evening the light changes to a relaxed evening atmosphere at dusk. To achieve this, the LEDs in the day/night luminaires are slowly faded in and out and the color temperature of the light sources behind the colored ceiling elements is dynamically adjusted. The light thus follows a natural rhythm and increases the sense of well-being as well as the general quality of stay. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
