light connects

The redesign of the pedestrian zone in Unna combines quality of stay with functionality, retail with places for children, older people, strollers, residents and tourists - and that in the literal sense: a band of light runs through the historic center of the Hanseatic city from the "New Meile". in the Massener Straße to the Lindenplatz, the seat of the renowned "Center for International Light Art".

Designed by the Berlin light artist Andreas Schmid, the installation with dynamic scenes from a change of cold white and warm white light provides subtle dynamics and thus structures the public space.

For this purpose, 61 floor lines OGL1 1060 LX with Tunable White (2700K to 6500K) were embedded in the pavement, which can be controlled individually and assigned individually programmed dramaturgies - from wavy patterns to circular movements to jumping points. The flush floor lines remain almost invisible during the day. Thanks to a height-adjustable mounting frame, the luminaires can also be lowered if the pavement is lowered, thus always guaranteeing accessibility and a high architectural quality of the urban space. OGL1 floor lines also allow for maximum loads from city cleaning vehicles, delivery traffic or emergency services.
