Immermannstrasse in Düsseldorf is an important hub in the city: a direct connection from the main train station to the newly designed Kö-Bogen, the heart of the Japanese center and an important shopping street. A citizens' workshop with ideas for upgrading the sidewalk area and improving the connection between the street and the city center resulted, among other things, in a new lighting concept.

Various highlights were intended to optimize the lighting situation and traffic safety on Immermannstrasse: innovative street lighting, staging of the plane trees with floor lights and new sidewalk lights.

"instalight 1060 Tunable White" recessed floor lights were placed on Immermannplatz in such a way that they are reminiscent of Japanese origami. The light installation is controlled via "instalight Control" so that different static and dynamic scenes run automatically. Finally, "the hammer" came into play: the client was convinced of the robustness of InstaLighting's recessed floor luminaires in the station district, which is at risk of vandalism.
