In the Arabian Emirate of Qatar, InstaLighting has successfully put its largest lighting project in the company's history into operation. A total of 3386 LED lights are integrated into a dynamically controllable lighting concept that is used to illuminate the Doha Office Tower designed by architect Jean Nouvel.
The "instalight 1050" luminaires are mounted on the walkways between the Moorish-style outer façade and the glass façade of the 231 metre high cylindrical building behind it. Designed by French light artist Yann Kersalé, the lighting at night creates a similarly radiant effect as the aluminium façade during the day. Each luminaire can be individually controlled and remotely maintained from Germany. Today, the Doha skyline features gradients between the colours white and amber, giving the tower a dynamic all-round glow in silver and gold tones. New lighting scenes can also be added to the system at any time.
The Doha Tower (Burj Qatar) was honoured with the CTBUH Skyscraper Award as the best large building in the world.
