Leicester Square is east of Piccadilly Circus and north of Trafalgar Square in central London. Around the park is a pedestrian zone with large cinemas, hotels and shops. In the middle of the park are statues of William Shakespeare, Charlie Chaplin, William Hogarth, John Hunter and Isaac Newton. The hustle and bustle can be observed from the illuminated seating areas.
After 17 months of work, the square was reopened in spring 2012 with a lavish party, after almost every stone was turned, the square was completely re-greened, seating areas were renewed and the area was illuminated with warm white "instalight LEDLUX LN" installed below the benches .
